I don't know how the temp control is gonna work out with nickel wires so I will have to wait and see. It performs really well as a regular box mod.

Googled and found out those junk cables are not good for data transfer so I ordered a micro usb cable from Amazon. I tried 4 different micro usb cables and none of them worked. It kept saying "no usb detected" even though the usb cable was connected between the mod and my laptop.

So there's a firmware upgrade but I haven't been able to do so after downloading their software. It takes a long time for the temperature to reach 400f, just like many others have experimented in youtube. I switched to wattage mode, put the same amount juice in, reset the puff count, used the same wattage, and dry hit at 12th.

However, the series has received lots of complaints about dropping voltages on. I tried at 400F/27w and at the 11th puff I could taste the dry burn coming. I'm just relaying stuff I think may be of interest to y'all,so don't shoot the sceptical messenger -) There are comments from viewers that it does work to throttle back the temp with kanthal. Obviously he's a new reviewer so doesn't have the questionable "credibility " of the established vape-famous reviewers,but considered this,if its true,to be well worth sharing. I've asked him in the comments where he got this info from & will post his reply when/if I receive one. Been watching reviews of this mod on YouTube & stumbled on PixelVape's offering,in which he says Smok's TC tech is not dependant on In & kanthal can be used
